Mac Mic Group Secures Prime Development Site in Cobham

Mac Mic Group is pleased to announce that it has secured a promotion agreement for a 26-acre site in Cobham, Surrey. This development will deliver up to 300 much-needed homes of all tenures in a highly sought-after location.

The site, previously considered for development in Elmbridge's Local Plan, aligns with the Council's recent acknowledgment of a significant housing shortfall. We are committed to creating a sustainable and vibrant community, complete with upgraded walking and cycling infrastructure and a thoughtfully designed built environment enhancing the quality of life for all.

A key feature of the proposal is the delivery of a stand alone Suitable Alternative Natural Green Space (SANG) and significant biodiversity improvements. The development will integrate nature-based solutions to create an environment that benefits both residents and local wildlife.

Our team is working diligently to submit a planning application in the coming months  and we are confident in the site's prospects for approval. We would like to express our gratitude to the landowners and agents for their invaluable contribution to this project and look forward to working with our first-class consultancy team.

Conor Roberts, Regional Land Director- South East, commented, "This excellent site, which benefits from some positive planning history, presenting a unique opportunity to help address the urgent need for affordable housing of all tenures in Cobham, where average house prices are among the highest in the UK outside London.  In an area where many local families and key workers struggle to find homes they can afford, this development will provide a crucial mix of housing options, including shared ownership, affordable and social rent properties. We are excited to bring forward a development that will not only meet housing demands but will also enhance the quality of life for new and existing residents.  Enhancing the biodiversity of the site while delivering a much needed SANG will be a key part of our proposals.

We’d like to thank all involved in making this happen, particularly the landowners, agents and legal teams who have worked in close partnership to ensure a swift exchange.  This development represents a significant step forward in providing much-needed housing solutions in one of the South East's most expensive residential markets”
