Mac Mic Group Unveils Plans for Thriving New Community in North Somerset

Mac Mic Group's Strategic Land South West Team is excited to announce two interrelated land promotion agreements that have been entered into in North Somerset.

This project encompasses a 48-acre site at Elborough and a 32-acre site at Locking, Weston-super-Mare with the combined potential to deliver over 300 new homes.

The vision goes beyond just housing. The sites have the potential to provide supported living accommodation for the elderly and a new community building with a local shop. The sites will be promoted as part of the emerging Local Plan process.

Sustainability is a key focus, with plans for an extensive biodiversity park featuring new wetland habitats, sustainable drainage features, and a protected area for bats. Additionally, new walking and cycling paths will improve connectivity between Locking and Elborough, enhancing access to existing amenities.

Mac Mic Group emphasises its commitment to community engagement. Michael Gooch, Strategic Land Manager for the South West Region (pictured below), highlights their established approach:

"We prioritise understanding local needs to create a development that truly benefits the community. Through extensive stakeholder engagement, we aim to craft a new neighbourhood that fosters a strong sense of place and makes residents proud to call it home."

"We extend our thanks to the landowners, in addition to Adam Hesse of Aston Mead and Scott Winnard of Bruton Knowles, for their collaboration in bringing this exciting project to fruition."

Scott Winnard at Bruton Knowles said he was: “Delighted we are working with Mac Mic Group again!”, while Adam Hesse, Owner, Aston Mead said: “Working with the Mac Mic Group team on this promotion agreement has been a real pleasure. Their level of preparation and attention to detail was truly impressive.”

“Throughout the process they were incredibly helpful and responsive, making the whole thing a positive experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mac Mic or to work with them again in the future."
